Last week when I was going nuts downloading and installing many of the different Linux distributions I came across Mandriva but decided to wait to download and install it because the 2011 version, code name Hydrogen, was about to be released.

Well now it’s available and I am excited to download, install, and try it. I haven’t used Mandriva Linux since it was originally called Mandrake Linux. And that was quite a few years ago. (more…)

How To Play Old DOS Games Using Linux?

If you have been wanting to play old DOS computer games but can’t figure out an easy way to do it the solution is actually pretty simple. If you happen to be a Ubuntu or Debian Linux user, there is a DOS emulator program you can easily install called DOSbox Emulator.

The program is simple to install, simply open terminal and type: sudo apt-get install dosbox and then you’re off to playing your old DOS games from ten, twenty years ago. DOSbox Emulator works on many other Linux distributions as well; however, the installation process will be slightly different. (more…)
